What items do restaurant customers commonly try to steal?

Fast food restaurants are hit up by most patrons for straws, condiments, napkins, sugar,salt,pepper, creamers, and ice. Most won't include condiments unless requested, in their drive -thrus, and have switched to dispensers and small serving plastic or paper cups. They also restrict refills to dine-in patrons because of some, ordering a large drink and sharing with the table.

Finally, customers love to fake falls , and injuries, and attorneys are in abundance because juries love to stick it to corporations and privately owned businesses.

Fancy or upscale restaurants are not excluded, and expensive menu items, meats, seafood, and gourmet items, including some desserts are targets of patrons, and more often employees.

For those who were actually old enough to have experienced the 1970s and not for those who were born in the 70s. What were the pros and cons of that era?

Casual restaurants suffer from all the above plus silverware, cloth napkins and glassware. They also have to watch for patrons walking out on the bill or those putting something in their meal, hair, glass, etc, trying to get a free meal.

Oh, I forgot. They will take the shit paper too. It started with Covid and remains a popular target.
